Lewis K. Billings is Senior Partner and Managing Member of Ritter Carr and Associates, an investment partnership which specializes in working with early venture businesses and entrepreneurs. A former three term Mayor of Provo City Utah, Billings is known for his conservative fiscal management, tough stance on crime, strong support of public safety, his work in bringing about a city-wide fiber optic network, as well as work on a number of other key community projects and priorities.
Billings has served or currently serves as a volunteer or board member for a number of organizations, including: Utah National Parks Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts Utah, American Public Power Association, Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce, Utah Valley Manufacturers Council, Utah's Fourth District Judicial Nominating Commission and a variety of others. Billings has also served as a delegate at four Republican Party National Conventions and twice as a Presidential Elector for Utah. He is an Honorary Colonel and member of the Utah National Guard’s Honorary Colonel Corps.
Billings studied engineering, technology and business at Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University.
Todd Frye fell in love with sailing in Hawaii in the 1960's. As a true adventurer Todd has hiked from Colorado to Utah across the Continental Davide, climbed many of Colorado's tallest peaks, earned a black belt and competitive gold medal in Jujitsu and guided sailing tours through Catalina, The British Virgin Islands, and Croatia.
Todd and his wife Louise founded the Bonneville School of Sailing and Seamanship, Utah's premier sailing school, which specializes in providing coasting quality seamanship training to inland "staycationers" and students from around the world who come to Utah to learn sailing. Many of Todd's students have gone on to purchase their own sailboats and even sail around the world!
Todd is passionate about spreading his love for the Ocean, and the confidence building skills that come with it, even further to enthusiastic inland students who simply would have never discovered their love for sailing because of geographic limitations.
Steve Monson found a passion for sailing on the shores of Bear Lake as a Boy Scout counselor at Camp Hunt. He spent much of his youth teaching scouts the finer points of rigging and sailing Sunfish and Hobie Cats. The unique combination of discipline required to properly rig and sail a boat, and the incredible feeling of independence, freedom and peace that comes from doing it well showed Steve the potential for sailing as a tutor for kids learning to live a good life.
Steve spends most of his time as a financial planner and is a partner at Edward Jones investments in Provo. When he is not working, you can find him on the water racing his Olson 30, out on a run, climbing a local trail on a mountain bike, or playing tennis with his wife and three boys.
Jarem Frye has a special passion for Non-profit work. As a cancer survivor, an amputee and a pro-level athlete, Jarem has benefited from many Non-profit organizations and the work they do. When NHMC began to be conceptualized, Jarem jumped at the chance to offer any help he could.
Jarem is father to four excited sailors who take every chance they get to be out on the lake with their "Pappa". He is the founder and CEO of K12 Prosthetics, An innovative company specializing in restoring lifestyle and ability to amputees who demand more than mere mobility.
